After Internet abuzz with the news of Nokia discontinuing production of Nokia based phones, now news reports suggests LG is the next big wig to embrace Meego. Though LG not turned up for the MeeGo conference in San Francisco, Meego enthusiasts still thinks LG will role out smart-phones with Meego in future.

For many, what differentiates Ubuntu from Debian is its Graphical installer. With the release of Debian Squeeze, Debian introduces a new graphical installer giving a clear signal that it also wants user friendliness. Of the strong no sayers of cloud computing, Richard Stallman stands tall. Though many dismissed his thoughts as just another shot from this free software preacher. But the recent events connected with wikileaks proved he is somewhat correct. Amazon.com Inc. Inc. says it stopped hosting WikiLeaks from its Web servers because the controversial group violated its terms of service. Earlier, WikiLeaks had turned to Amazon's Web services after its servers in Sweden were hit by large scale ddos attacks. WikiLeaks "doesn't own or otherwise control all the rights to this classified content," one of the stipulations of Amazon's contractual terms,said Amazon spokesman Drew Herdener.

GNU project first announced on this day - September 27, marking a new era in the hsitory of computers. It initiated the GNU operating system, software development for which began in January 1984.The founding goal of the project was, in the words of its initial announcement, to develop "a sufficient body of free software [...] to get along without any software that is not free." One of the most notable projects of the GNU Project is the GNU C compiler, which has been adopted as the standard compiler on almost all UNIX and UNIX-like systems, including Apple's iPhone and iPod. But to this they couldnt successfully implement Kernel. So GNU with Kernel developed by Linus Torvalds is called GNU/LInux. But most people incorrectly call an OS Linux, though execpt the Kernel other applications are contributed by GNU project.

Good news Linux enthusiasts. Google has announced video chat support in Linux for use in its popular gmail service. Official google blog writes" If you’ve been wanting to use voice and video chat on Linux (our top video chat request), then we have good news for you: it’s now available! Visit gmail.com/videochat to download the plugin and get started." As of now only debian packages are available. This means Redhat/Suse users have to wait for some time to get this service working on their browsers.
