![]() PHP 5.3 coming soon by the end of this JUNEAfter the successor PHP 5.2 the new PHP version well get out by the end of this month. This version PHP 5.3 is most awaited version of PHP programmers, with more feature and futre proof.And the new version will be out by JUNE 30th.And this release is a major release since release of PHP 5.2 (2006). While the official release is on June 30th, support for PHP 5.3 is already present in development tools from Eclipse released this week.PHP 6 is just around the corner, many of the features originally planned for PHP 6 have been back-ported to PHP 5.3. For the programmers it will be interesting to work on it.But hosing providers it will take time for them to upgrade to new version. Leaving some time for others getting tested the new code.The latest development release of which is currently available here.The new version of PHP contains many fundamental enhancements and features, including support for namespaces, late static binding, Phar archives, Lambda functions and closures, Nowdoc syntax and the controversial goto statement.PHP 5.3 brings new features (namespaces, late statics binding, and the garbage collector, for instance) but the refactoring of the argument stack, for example, and other optimization patches have lead to a measurable performance improvement (PHP 5.3 is 1.2 times faster than PHP 5.2 for raw execution speed).

PHP 5.3 contains much functionality that was originally slated for inclusion in PHP 6, which takes it from being a minor upgrade to a significant release that every PHP developer should start thinking about. |
