If you are a newbie and dont want to play with configurations then deluge is the best bet. 1. rtorrent

Commandline torrent client written in c++. Offers good speed and a lot of option. For a newbie bit difficult to configure. Support encryption, DHT, Peer Exchange,Prioritization,Selective downloads... Some webbased front-ends are also availbale like ntorrent,rtGUI.

What differentiates libtorrent libraray of rtorrent is that it transfers directly from file pages to the network stack."On high-bandwidth connections it is able to seed at 3 times the speed of the official client. "

2. Deluge

A libtorrent based GUI client which works under Linux/Windows/Mac.libtorrent is an open source implementation of the BitTorrent protocol. It is written in and has its main library interface in C++. It also provides plugins.
