Skype is not available in the official partner repository of Ubuntu 11.04. So you have to dowload and install it seperately. Installing Skype using command line.

For newbies its a bad news, since they have to compile new drivers but for free software supporters it a big news. One of the most popular GNU/Linux distribution is coming out with a completely free kernel. For users who are forced to install non-free ones because of the non existence of free ones, Debian will be providing a non-free section. But this comes with lesser support as the source code is not available.

Top 5 GNOME themes are listed here. Once you have downloaded the file rightclick at desktop and click on Change Desktop Background Option. Then select Theme tab and click on Install option to select the downloaded file. This option accepts theme packages. Most of the files we download are of this type. Some times downloaded file containsmany other compressed files. If so, extract it and select the appropriate file.

Gnome Colors is an indipendent project aimed at providing more eye candy to the Gnome desktop. It is mainly aimed at color customization of themes, icons, GDM logins and splash screens. Almost all keybords have a windows key in it. This windows key is used to open start menu, if you are using windows operating system. You can configure your Ubuntu so that your applications menu can be opened using this windows key.
