UIF( Universal Image Format) is  a proprietary disk image format used by MagicISO. It is a proprietary disk image format. MagicISO (also referred to as MagicISO Maker) is a CD/DVD image shareware utility that can extract, edit, create, and burn disc image files.Being a  proprietary its difficult to work with UIF images in Linux.
 
The tool is here thanks to the geek  Luigi Auriemma.
 
This tool converts uif image to iso. Then we can easily extract iso image in Debian/Ubuntu.

To install it try the following steps

  1. Extract the archive by right clicking it.
  2. Move to the src folder.
  3. Type the commands make and then make install( better to be root)

Thats it.

After installing

type the command
 
 uif2iso filename.uif filename.iso 


Thats all.........
