The HTC Desire S is a mobile phone that is all set to be the replacement for the HTC Desire, which is the current leader of the smartphone segment from HTC. It was definitely surprising that the HTC Desire turned out to be a major success for the company, but if at all the HTC Desire S succeeds and there is a good possibility of that, it will be not at all surprising. This is due to the presence of various features, which have not been developed from scratch, but developed from the options already present in the HTC Desire. This has made the features even better, which will make this phone compete with the best of the best easily.
It features the same 3.7 inch display and it seems that HTC has obviously decided not to meddle with most of the features of the display department. This is something that was already present in the best possible way and this could be the reason for HTC deciding so. As a result, there are absolutely no changes with regard to the way that the operating system and the various contents are going to be displayed on the screen. It is only in the features surrounding the screen that you will start to notice some changes in the phone. In fact, the major changes appear in the form of the touch sensitive controls, which have replaced the physical buttons. Also, the optical trackpad has been removed in favour of these buttons. So, it is known that the BlackBerry phones that offer the optical trackpad in a huge way, with major companies going for the convenience of the touch screen display more than anything else. The HTC Desire already have the convenience of the touch screen, HTC has decided to remove the optical trackpad. The HTC Desire S will be providing an increase in the RAM of 512 MB to 768 MB, which is certainly going to be the game changer when it comes to the performance of this new phone. This phone will not only be able to handle the latest version of Android operating system, but also the numerous applications that are available for it. The whole essence of the smartphone has to be the presence of applications, which will make it even better. So, the support provided to the applications is as important as the support provided to the operating system. In this area, the HTC Desire S shines more than any other phone and it is quite clearly evident in the 1 GHz Scorpion processor present in the phone. The five megapixel camera does not seem to have been changed at all, but the presence of the HD video recording feature has been made as a default one. The phone will support the social networking in the same way that it once did and no changes have been made in this regard as well. The HTC Desire S will be available for around £25 per month here in the UK. |
